Rangers acquire Joonas Korpisalo from Bruins in trade
The New York Rangers acquired Finnish goaltender Joonas Korpisalo from the Boston Bruins, according to The New York Times. The Rangers sent a 2028 fourth-round draft pick and prospect Kalle Väisänen to Boston as part of the deal. The 2028 fourth-round pick will now belong to the Bruins.
Kalle Väisänen, a prospect in the Rangers’ system, joins the Bruins organization through the exchange. The transaction positions Korpisalo as the likely backup to starter Igor Shesterkin.
