CNN legal affairs chief Paula Reid set to leave for MS NOW
Paula Reid, CNN's chief legal affairs correspondent, is expected to depart the network and join MS NOW as the media company expands its newsroom.
Paula Reid, who has served as CNN's chief legal affairs correspondent since 2023, is slated to leave the network and move to MS NOW, a news outlet that has been expanding its newsroom after separating from Comcast, sources said. Reid joined CNN from CBS News in 2021, where she covered the White House and the Justice Department and led reporting on the Mueller investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
An MS NOW spokesperson declined to comment on personnel matters but noted that Reid is a respected journalist and would be an asset to any news organization. CNN did not respond to requests for comment.
Reid's departure comes as Paramount Pictures prepares to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, a deal expected to close in the third quarter, which has prompted discussions within CNN about the future direction of the network under new ownership. Paramount CEO David Ellison has emphasized the need to maintain editorial independence at CNN amid the pending merger.
