The token, promoted as a speculative investment, attracted hundreds of thousands of buyers who hoped its price would rise with Trump's potential return to the White House.
The analysis also found that many of those investors experienced losses, as the token's value failed to meet expectations. Trump has recently disclosed that his businesses have generated roughly $1.4 billion in revenue from the broader cryptocurrency sector since he resumed the presidency.
"We are pleased with the financial results from our cryptocurrency ventures," a Trump organization spokesperson said in a statement.
The findings highlight the disparity between the earnings of the Trump family and the outcomes for ordinary investors who participated in the token sale.
