Russian forces launched a combined drone and missile assault on Kyiv during the night, striking residential buildings and setting a hotel roof ablaze on the central Shevchenko Boulevard. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram that the fire engulfed the hotel roof and that a ballistic missile strike injured five people in one of the city’s central districts. Multiple explosions were heard, according to a Reuters witness. The mayor added that residents were trapped in a damaged nine-story apartment block and that the roof of another high-rise caught fire. Unofficial Telegram channels showed civilians moving into underground stations for safety.
