Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce donate $26 million to charities ahead of New York wedding
The pop star and NFL player contributed $26 million to 20 charities across New York, Rhode Island and Kansas City before their scheduled wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have pledged a total of $26 million to 20 charitable organizations this week, according to the singer’s publicist. The donations include nine New York-based groups such as the Food Bank for NYC, City Harvest and Musical Mentors, as well as charities linked to the couple’s personal ties, including the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. National programs that received contributions include Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Feeding America. The specific amounts given to each organization were not disclosed.
"The donations were spread out across 20 local and national charities, with many located in areas where the couple has deep ties," the publicist said.
Law-enforcement officials briefed on security plans confirmed that the couple’s wedding will take place on Friday at Madison Square Garden, with a smaller rehearsal dinner scheduled for Thursday night. The charitable giving follows previous philanthropic activities by both individuals; Swift has donated to food banks during her Eras Tour, and Kelce has been recognized for charitable challenges and runs his own nonprofit.
