Supreme Court backs Trump administration's moves to curb immigration protections

The U. S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that the Trump administration could terminate Temporary Protected Status for Haitian and Syrian migrants. NBC News reported that the decision covers roughly 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians.

AP confirmed the court’s order, noting it opens the way to possible deportations. CNN added that the Court held TPS designations are not subject to judicial review. BBC clarified that asylum seekers must be physically present in the United States to file a claim. The ruling therefore allows the administration to end TPS for the two groups.
