Court hearing considers GPS monitoring for Terrion Arnold amid NFL interest

Resumen

A judge will decide if former Lions defensive back Terrion Arnold must wear a GPS monitor while on house arrest, as his agent says multiple NFL teams have shown interest.

A federal judge is set to rule on whether Terrion Arnold, who faces eight felony charges, will be required to wear a GPS monitoring device while under house arrest. The decision hinges on whether Arnold will be practicing or playing football in 2026. If a team signs him, the court may maintain the earlier restriction imposed while he was on the Detroit Lions roster; otherwise, standard home-confinement protocols could apply.

Arnold’s agent, Nicole Lynn, testified that four NFL clubs – the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans – have inquired about him. She said Arnold visited and worked out for the Texans, although the workout has not yet appeared in the league’s daily transaction reports. Lynn added that there is a “very good likelihood” Arnold will be signed within the next 45 days.

The outcome may also depend on whether any of those teams confirm interest or move to sign him, as players who work out without a prompt contract often remain unsigned in the short term. Additionally, the league could place Arnold on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, which would grant paid leave and potentially reduce teams’ incentive to sign him.
