NFL cornerback Terrion Arnold faces eight felony charges after alleged robbery and kidnapping case
Cornerback Terrion Arnold has been charged with multiple felonies, including armed robbery and kidnapping, stemming from a dispute over stolen property from a Florida rental home.
Terrion Arnold, a cornerback awaiting a new team, is awaiting a judge's decision on whether he will be required to wear a GPS monitor while on house arrest. He faces eight felony counts: three for armed robbery, one for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, three for kidnapping and one for conspiracy to commit kidnapping, offenses that carry a potential life sentence.
According to a recent report, Arnold reported that thieves stole an $80,000 diamond chain, designer bags, shoes, two Rolex watches, a cellphone, a Bible and $100,000 in cash from an Airbnb he had rented in Florida earlier this year. He told police the theft was an "inside job" and later said he intended to travel to a nearby casino.
Police investigations linked Arnold to a subsequent armed robbery and kidnapping allegedly carried out by individuals attempting to recover the stolen items. Text messages among the suspects were presented as evidence of the plot, but the effort to retrieve the property was unsuccessful. Arnold later told investigators he no longer wished to press criminal charges, expressing a desire for the items to be returned and indicating he might seek civil remedies if they were not.
Arnold's attorney, Harvey Steinberg, maintains that his client had no involvement in the robbery or kidnapping and argues that law enforcement focused on Arnold from the outset of the case. The matter is set to proceed through the courts.
