Terrion Arnold's ankle-monitor hearing postponed to Friday

Resumen

A court hearing on whether free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold must wear an ankle monitor has been delayed until July 10, after prosecutors asked the judge to reconsider his earlier ruling.

A hearing on whether free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold will be required to wear an ankle monitor while on home confinement pending trial on eight felony charges was scheduled for Monday but has been postponed to Friday, July 10, according to a report from the Detroit News.

Prosecutors have asked the presiding judge to revisit his earlier decision, which had reluctantly ruled that Arnold was not required to wear a GPS device while he was still on the Detroit Lions roster. Arnold was released by the Lions and cleared waivers on Monday.

Arnold’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, wrote in court papers that three NFL teams have contacted his client and that he expects to sign with a new team within 30 days. Arnold is expected to testify at the hearing about his employment prospects.

"Arnold is expected to visit NFL teams that have expressed an interest in signing him," reported ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.

The postponed hearing will determine whether the ankle monitor condition will be imposed as the case proceeds.
