Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is set for a bond hearing on Monday as he faces eight felony counts, including armed robbery and kidnapping, in Florida. Arnold has denied the allegations. If convicted, he could be incarcerated for an extended period, which would prevent him from playing during the final two years of his rookie contract.
Arnold signed a four-year rookie deal in 2024 worth $13.343 million, with scheduled salaries of $2.098 million in 2026 and $2.75 million in 2027, plus a $7.251 million signing bonus. Under NFL rules, the Lions could seek to recoup a portion of the signing bonus—estimated at $3.6255 million—if Arnold is unavailable for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
The team would need to retain Arnold on the roster to retain the right to recover the unearned portion of the bonus, a practice previously applied to other players in similar situations.
"Arnold has strongly denied the allegations," a spokesperson for the player said.
