Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold arrested on felony robbery and kidnapping charges in Florida
Terrion Arnold surrendered to authorities in Florida and faces multiple felony charges related to an alleged robbery and kidnapping scheme, while the Lions and his representatives declined comment.
Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold voluntarily surrendered to Florida authorities after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with a robbery and kidnapping case in Tampa. The Hillsborough County state attorney’s office said Arnold faces several felony counts that could carry a sentence of up to life in prison.
"Arnold is accused of coordinating and directing ... codefendants to lure three men to an apartment where the victims were robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint," the release stated.
State Attorney Suzy Lopez added that the arrest resulted from months of investigative work by the Tampa Police Department and prosecutors, emphasizing that a dispute over missing property does not justify violent retaliation.
Arnold and four co-defendants are being held without bond. Two other co-defendants, Arianna Del Valle and Jasmine Randazzo, pleaded guilty; Randazzo received a four-year prison term and six years of probation, while Del Valle’s sentencing is pending.
Arnold’s legal representatives maintain his innocence. His manager, Denise White, said the government’s case relies on testimony from convicted felons who may have incentives to shift blame.
The Lions issued a brief statement saying they are aware of the legal situation and will not comment further out of respect for the ongoing process. Arnold remains under his rookie contract, a four-year deal worth $14.3 million with a fifth-year club option.
