Florida judge refuses GPS ankle monitor for ex-Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold
A Florida judge denied the request that former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold be fitted with a GPS ankle monitor while he remains on house arrest. Arnold was taken into custody in Tampa on four kidnapping and four armed robbery counts, according to the Detroit Free Press. He surrendered to Florida authorities and faced multiple felony charges, USA Today reported. A $1 million bond was set, and after posting it he was released to home confinement without a GPS monitor, NBC Sports said.
The Lions terminated his contract, and he later cleared waivers to become a free agent, NBC Sports noted. His agent said three NFL clubs expressed interest, and a hearing was scheduled to consider GPS monitoring, NBC Sports reported. Prosecutors asked the judge to reconsider, but the judge ultimately refused to impose the monitor, ESPN reported.
