Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to Hold Rehearsal Dinner and Late-Night Celebration at Madison Square Garden

Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce are set to mark their wedding weekend in New York City with two separate events at Madison Square Garden. A rehearsal dinner for roughly 100 guests is scheduled for Thursday evening in the venue's Infosys Theater, while a larger celebration on Friday night could host up to 1,000 attendees and run until the early hours of Saturday.

Law-enforcement officials familiar with the security plans said the events will rely heavily on private security, as the New York Police Department faces resource constraints during the Fourth of July holiday period. A street-activity permit covering July 2 to July 4 has been filed, allowing private firms to manage crowd control around the arena.

John Hart, a retired assistant chief of the NYPD who has overseen security for high-profile gatherings, noted that the confined layout of Madison Square Garden should aid protection efforts. He said media crews and fans will still converge on the venue, and that the NYPD will handle issues such as paparazzi and fan gatherings outside the secured perimeter.

"That said, it will be swarmed by media of all types and fans hoping to catch a glimpse," Hart said. "Paparazzi chasing cars with guests and swarming hotels will be a side issue that will fall to NYPD as well," he added.

Large trucks have been observed delivering stage equipment and lighting to the arena in recent days, some bearing labels that read "Garden Party" or "GP."
