Former JFK Jr. aide doubts rumors of Taylor Swift, Travis Kelke wedding at MSG
RoseMarie Terenzio, who organized John F. Kennedy Jr.'s secret wedding, said she believes reports that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will marry at Madison Square Garden are likely a diversion.
RoseMarie Terenzio, who served as chief of staff to John F. Kennedy Jr. and helped arrange his clandestine ceremony, told CBS Mornings she does not think the rumored wedding of singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will take place at Madison Square Garden. She suggested the MSG filing could be a decoy and that Swift may instead stage an event for fans in the venue.
New York City Hall confirmed an application for an event near Madison Square Garden on July 3, along with a request to close surrounding streets. Terenzio said the couple’s inner circle has kept details scarce, noting that privacy is maintained through limited invitations, verbal communication and the use of false leads, as was done for Kennedy’s own wedding.
"I think there will be something for the fans," Terenzio said, adding that Swift’s understanding of her audience could lead to a fan-focused activity at the arena.
She recalled that before Kennedy’s wedding, fake itineraries were left for Ireland while the actual ceremony occurred on Cumberland Island, Georgia. Terenzio said similar tactics—no written correspondence and personal outreach to guests—could help Swift and Kelce keep their celebration private.
"She just has such savvy about everything she does," Terenzio added, expressing confidence the couple could manage a low-key wedding despite intense public interest.
