Country singer Bailey Zimmerman apologizes after being charged over alleged $16,000 resort damage

Resumen

Bailey Zimmerman issued a public apology after New Mexico authorities filed charges related to alleged property damage at Sandia Resort & Casino following the cancellation of his concert.

A New Mexico court filed charges against country musician Bailey Zimmerman for allegedly causing extensive damage to a hotel room at Sandia Resort & Casino on May 27, after he cancelled a scheduled performance. The complaint, obtained by local media, says investigators found the room in disarray and cite video evidence of confrontations with staff and security.

In a written statement, Zimmerman addressed the incident, saying he "apologize[s] to the Pueblo of Sandia and everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino" and expressed regret for any disrespect perceived. He also apologized to ticket-holding fans, acknowledging his responsibilities as an artist and stating he is taking the legal matter seriously.

According to the investigation, Zimmerman spent part of the day playing golf, then allegedly set a cigarette on fire near other men, threw equipment during a sound check, and spat toward a security officer. After canceling the show, resort staff asked him and his entourage to leave; investigators say he refused, leading police to escort him off the property. Cleaning staff reportedly found his hotel room in a state of disarray the following day.
