Top picks and grades announced for 2026 NBA Draft

The Washington Wizards selected AJ Dybantsa with the first overall pick, earning an A grade from draft analysts who described him as a versatile wing with scoring ability at all levels. The Utah Jazz chose point guard Darryn Peterson at No. 2, also receiving an A grade for his shot-making and potential to become a franchise cornerstone. The Memphis Grizzlies took Cameron Boozer at No. 3, praised for his size, skill set and a high floor, and graded A+.

The Chicago Bulls picked Caleb Wilson at No. 4, noting his athleticism and upside, while the Los Angeles Clippers selected Keaton Wagler at No. 5, citing his shooting and basketball IQ; both received grades of A and B+, respectively. Later first-round selections included Mikel Brown Jr. (Brooklyn Nets, B+), Darius Acuff Jr. (Sacramento Kings, A-), Kingston Flemings (Atlanta Hawks, B+), Morez Johnson Jr. (Dallas Mavericks, C+), Brayden Burries (Milwaukee Bucks, B+), Yaxel Lendeborg (Golden State Warriors, B-), Aday Mara (Oklahoma City Thunder, A-), Nate Ament (Milwaukee Bucks via trade, B+), and Hannes Steinbach (Charlotte Hornets, B).

Analysts highlighted the depth of the draft class, noting several high-school prospects such as Dybantsa, Peterson and Boozer, as well as a group of one-and-done point guards. The selections reflect each team’s strategic focus, from rebuilding frontcourts to adding athletic guards.

"Dybantsa has the potential to lead the NBA in scoring one day," the grading notes said. "Peterson could be the very best player to come out of this draft," the analysis added. "Boozer offers the highest floor in the class and an underrated ceiling," the report stated.

The draft grades will be updated as the season progresses.
