U.S. Forces Report Increased Commercial Traffic Through Strait of Hormuz on June 20
U.S. Central Command said 55 merchant vessels, carrying cargo and over 17 million barrels of oil, safely transited the Strait of Hormuz on June 20 while U.S. forces continued to operate in the area.
U.S. Central Command reported that 55 merchant ships moved through the Strait of Hormuz on June 20, transporting cargo and more than 17 million barrels of oil to global markets. The Joint Maritime Information Center issued an advisory confirming that the designated route remained free of arbitrary claims or impediments, ensuring safe passage for all vessels. U.S. forces said they remained present in the region to monitor compliance with the agreement with Iran.
"U.S. forces remain present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect," the statement read.
