NetJets Business Jet Crashes on Laredo Highway, Killing One and Injuring Five
A NetJets Cessna Citation Latitude crashed on Loop 20 near Laredo International Airport, killing one passenger and injuring five, CNN reported. The New York Times said the aircraft had reported mechanical problems and low fuel before the crash-landing. The crash occurred on a highway segment of Loop 20 close to the airport.
Keye later identified the deceased as Joshua Baer, co-founder and chief executive of the Austin-based startup accelerator Capital Factory, while the other occupants sustained only minor injuries. According to the Associated Press, several motorists who encountered the burning jet helped pull passengers from the wreckage, and Laredo police and firefighters worked to contain the fire and treat the injured.
