The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it arrested five people and identified 23 others as part of a network that had planned attacks on the UFC America 250 mixed-martial arts event in Washington, D.C., last weekend. The agency became aware of the threat on June 10, according to a statement posted on X by FBI Director Kash Patel, who noted that the individuals involved were located outside the National Capital Region. Details of the alleged scheme, reported by media outlets, indicated that explosive-laden drones were intended to be used against buildings near the venue. Patel did not disclose the total number of arrests made during the multi-state operation.
