Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo Confirm Divorce, Cite Irreconcilable Differences and IVF Struggles

Summary

Country singer Jelly Roll filed for divorce from wife Bunnie Xo in May, citing irreconcilable differences. Both discussed the split on their respective platforms, mentioning IVF challenges and plans to co-parent.

Country artist Jelly Roll filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie Xo on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, listing the date of separation as May 9 and citing irreconcilable differences, court documents show. The couple, who married in 2016, have spoken publicly about the breakup.

During a June 18 episode of her "Dumb Blonde" podcast, Bunnie Xo described a heated argument on Mother’s Day that led her to tell Jelly Roll to file for divorce, adding that she said the comment in anger and was not blindsided by the filing. She also revealed that the couple’s attempts at in-vitro fertilization, which involved three embryo transfers and the loss of four embryos, strained their communication and contributed to the marital breakdown.

"We stopped communicating together in the past year and a half," Xo said on the podcast.

Both parties emphasized that the split was not due to infidelity. Jelly Roll told an audience in Saratoga Springs, New York, that he and his wife remain best friends and that rumors of cheating are false. He expressed gratitude for their ten-year marriage and indicated a desire to maintain a friendship moving forward.

"Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends," he said.

Despite the divorce, Xo said the pair intend to co-parent any future children and described their relationship as unconventional but amicable. Representatives for either side have not responded to requests for comment.
