Interior Department Appeals Judge’s Order to Restore Historical Displays in National Parks
A federal judge in Boston issued a preliminary injunction requiring the Interior Department to restore removed historical signs in national parks, NBC reported. The injunction, also detailed by the Los Angeles Times, specified that the signs be reinstated before the upcoming holiday. According to the Associated Press, the judge further ordered a halt to any additional alterations of museum and park displays and mandated the reversal of changes already made. The order applied to multiple national museums, parks and landmarks across the United States. The U.
S. Department of the Interior filed an appeal seeking to block the judge’s restoration order, ABC News said. The agency argued that the injunction should be stayed pending a broader injunction request. The appeal moves the dispute to the appellate courts while the original injunction remains in effect.
