Trump claims U.S. and China are the only nations capable of retrieving uranium from Iran
President Donald Trump stated that only the U.S. and China have the necessary capabilities to retrieve enriched uranium from Iran's nuclear sites, which he claims have been heavily damaged by military strikes.
During a press conference, President Donald Trump emphasized that the facilities containing enriched uranium in Iran are so severely damaged that recovery efforts would be extremely challenging. He stated that, 'We attacked their nuclear sites and they were obliterated,' adding that the damage was extensive enough that it left the capability to retrieve material uncertain.
According to Trump, only the U.S. and China possess the advanced equipment necessary to access these sites, stating, 'But the only ones that have the capability of getting it out are us and China.' He also referenced assessments from the International Atomic Energy Agency that support his claims about the difficulty of accessing the sites.
Trump's remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, as the two nations remain engaged in complex negotiations regarding nuclear capabilities and broader diplomatic relations.
