Ukrainian forces strike Henichesk bridge, air defense system and UAV command posts

Summary

Ukraine said its forces hit a bridge used for Russian supply routes, a Pantsir-S air-defence system and several drone command centres in southern and eastern regions on June 20.

Ukrainian defense officials reported a series of strikes on June 20 targeting Russian logistical and command infrastructure. The attacks included an automobile bridge over the Henichesk Strait in the Kherson region, which they say is used to move supplies from the Crimean Peninsula to Russian troops in southern Ukraine.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun system near the settlement of Dolynske was hit. Additional strikes were said to have struck UAV command posts near Soledar in Donetsk, Hrozove in Zaporizhzhia and Terebreno in Russia’s Belgorod region.

Satellite imagery showed fires at the Tavriyska Thermal Power Plant in Crimea and at oil-and-gas storage sites northwest of Bakhchysarai, as well as at two gas distribution stations near Zhuravlivka and Lokhivka. A fire was also detected near the Henichesk bridge on the Arabat Spit, an area where occupation authorities had previously installed a pontoon crossing after earlier bridge damage.

Local reports from Crimea described explosions and the activation of air-defence systems in several cities, including Simferopol and Sevastopol, during the night following the strikes.
