Zelensky Highlights Ukraine's Strikes on Russian Logistics

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces possess the capability to strike Russian military logistics across nearly all occupied areas, a situation that is contributing to substantial shortages, particularly fuel shortages in Crimea and other regions under occupation. Zelensky emphasized that these operational capabilities are evidenced by recent impacts on Russian supply routes, where drone strikes have shuttered many oil refineries.

He noted, "There are practically no safe roads for the occupier in the south and east of our country," reinforcing the notion that ongoing Ukrainian strikes render it increasingly difficult for Russian forces to operate without disruption. This reflects Ukraine's strategy of implementing long-range sanctions against Russian logistics step by step.

Zelensky highlighted the significance of strikes targeting Russian oil refineries, which have prompted Moscow to impose a temporary ban on jet fuel exports amid growing domestic fuel market pressures. His comments suggested that Ukraine has conducted strikes on 15 Russian oil refineries this year, severely impacting Russia's refining capacity, which has reportedly decreased by nearly 40%.

While high global oil prices have previously bolstered Russia's revenues, setbacks from recent infrastructure damage and reduced export volumes are compelling the country to invest more heavily to sustain its energy sector amid the growing pressure from Ukrainian military actions.
