Explosion at Blue Origin Launch Vehicle Test in Florida

An explosion linked to Blue Origin's New Glenn launch vehicle took place on Thursday night at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, reported around 9 p.m. Initial information from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office indicated a failure during a test firing, but preliminary reports confirm that no injuries occurred.

In a social media statement, Blue Origin acknowledged experiencing "an anomaly during today's hotfire test" and assured the public that all personnel were accounted for, promising further updates as details emerge. The New Glenn rocket had recently arrived at Launch Complex 36 ahead of its scheduled Leo New Glenn 1 launch.

Congressman Mike Haridopolos expressed gratitude over the lack of injuries and noted he had communicated with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman regarding the incident. Both SpaceX and United Launch Alliance are set to continue with launches from the same location on Friday.
