President Trump's Extensive Stock Trades Raise Ethical Concerns
President Donald Trump's recent financial disclosures reveal over 3,700 stock trades in early 2026, involving major companies linked to his administration, prompting ethical scrutiny.
President Donald Trump's financial disclosures for the first quarter of 2026 reveal over 3,700 stock trades, totaling between $220 million and $750 million. These transactions involved major companies such as Nvidia, Oracle, Microsoft, Boeing, and Costco, many of which have direct ties to his administration.
The volume and nature of these trades have raised ethical concerns. Eric Diton, president of The Wealth Alliance, remarked, "In the 40-plus years of my time on Wall Street, this is an unusual amount of trading by any standards." Public sentiment also reflects unease, with 88% of Americans opposing public officials trading stocks while in office.
Notably, Trump's investments included over $1 million in Nvidia, a company that secured a deal with the White House last year to manufacture AI infrastructure in the United States. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang accompanied Trump to Beijing for a summit with President Xi Jinping, highlighting the close ties between the administration and the company.
The White House has not immediately responded to requests for comment on these disclosures. Additionally, Trump has been fined twice this year for failing to report stock transactions on time, further intensifying scrutiny over his financial activities.
