Apple Settles $250 Million Lawsuit Over Delayed Siri Features

Resumen

Apple has agreed to a $250 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit concerning the delayed release of promised Siri enhancements, with eligible iPhone users potentially receiving up to $95 each.

Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a U.S. class-action lawsuit alleging false advertising over delayed Siri features. The lawsuit claimed that Apple misrepresented the availability of enhanced Siri capabilities, leading consumers to believe these features were imminent when they were not.

The settlement covers approximately 36 million devices, including iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 models purchased in the U.S. between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Eligible users may receive $25 per device, with potential payouts increasing up to $95 depending on the number of claims submitted.

In a statement, Apple said it agreed to settle the lawsuit "to stay focused" on "delivering the most innovative products and services to our users."

The personalized Siri features, initially announced in June 2024, are now expected to be released later this year as part of the upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 updates.

A settlement website will be established in the coming months, where eligible users can submit claims. Notifications will be sent via email within approximately 45 days.
