A Utah court has mandated that reality TV star Taylor Frankie Paul and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, maintain a distance of at least 100 feet from each other for the next three years, as custody arrangements for their 2-year-old son are under review.

Third District Court Commissioner Russell Minas granted mutual protective orders to both parties, citing concerns over their volatile interactions.

"The problem is that the two of them can't be together in the same place at the same time before it starts to turn violent," Minas stated.

The court is set to determine custody arrangements by May 11, with Mortensen currently holding temporary custody. Paul has been restricted to supervised visitation since April 7, following allegations of domestic violence.

A leaked video from 2023, showing Paul allegedly assaulting Mortensen in the presence of her daughter, led to the cancellation of her season on "The Bachelorette" and a pause in the production of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." Paul had previously pleaded guilty to an assault charge related to this incident, with the charge set to be reduced to a misdemeanor upon completion of a three-year probation ending in August.

Both parties have accused each other of domestic violence in recent incidents. The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office declined to file new charges against Paul, citing insufficient evidence.

A review hearing is scheduled for June 1 to assess the situation further.
