Un tirador de 27 años abrió fuego en el sitio arqueológico de Teotihuacán en México, matando a un turista canadiense e hiriendo a 13 personas, incluidos estadounidenses, colombianos, brasileños y un ruso. El atacante actuó solo y estuvo influenciado por tiroteos masivos anteriores. Después del ataque, se suicidó en el lugar.

Tras el incidente, las autoridades mexicanas cerraron el sitio para realizar investigaciones y expresaron condolencias a las víctimas. En respuesta al tiroteo, México aumentó las medidas de seguridad en lugares turísticos antes de la próxima Copa Mundial de la FIFA para prevenir ataques similares.
