Canadian PM Carney Urges Economic Diversification Away from U.S.
Prime Minister Mark Carney initiated a call for Canada to reduce its economic reliance on the United States, highlighting recent shifts in U. S. trade policies as a catalyst for change. He emphasized the importance of diversifying Canada's trade partnerships to mitigate risks associated with dependence on a single major economy.
Following this, Carney outlined plans to attract new investments and broaden Canada's economic relationships beyond the U. S. This approach aims to strengthen Canada's economic resilience by fostering diverse trade connections and reducing vulnerability to external policy changes in the United States.
