U.S. Launches Tariff Refunds Amid Challenges for Small Importers
U. S. Customs and Border Protection announced the launch of the CAPE portal, enabling businesses to apply for refunds on tariffs invalidated by the Supreme Court.
This system was established to process refunds for over $166 billion in tariffs deemed unconstitutional, affecting more than 330,000 importers, including major retailers. However, small importers such as Proof Culture have encountered challenges navigating the refund process. Despite the government's efforts to facilitate tariff refunds, these smaller businesses face difficulties in securing their reimbursements, highlighting ongoing issues within the system.
