Observers Report High Incidence of 'Family Voting' in Gorton and Denton By-Election
During the Gorton and Denton by-election in Greater Manchester, votes were initially being counted amid a close race primarily between Labour, Reform UK, and the Green Party. Observers from Democracy Volunteers reported significant instances of illegal 'family voting,' where multiple family members voted together, raising concerns about the integrity of the election process. These reports prompted discussions among local authorities, including Manchester City Council, and commentators such as John Ault and Nigel Farage, who expressed concern over the potential impact on electoral fairness. The situation highlighted challenges in maintaining transparent and fair voting practices in the by-election.
