SpaceX Crew-12 Mission Restores Full Staffing to International Space Station
The SpaceX Crew-12 mission launched on February 13, 2026, from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, carrying four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). This mission was expedited following the early return of the Crew-11 team due to a medical evacuation, marking NASA's first medical evacuation from the ISS. The crew includes astronauts from NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), Roscosmos, and the Canadian Space Agency. Prior to launch, the astronauts underwent a two-week pre-flight quarantine at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
The launch was initially scheduled for February 11 but was postponed to February 13 due to unfavorable weather conditions. The Crew-12 spacecraft successfully docked with the ISS on February 14, 2026, restoring the station's full crew capacity. The crew is expected to stay aboard the ISS for approximately eight to nine months, supporting ongoing operations and research.
