Five Bodies Recovered from Missing MBCA Amejara; DNA Testing Underway
Four bodies have been recovered from the sunken motorbanca MBCA Amejara by the Philippine Coast Guard. These bodies were transported to Davao City for DNA identification as part of ongoing efforts to identify the victims. Search and rescue operations continue for the remaining missing individuals. The incident involved multiple agencies including the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Davao, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Navy, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and the Salazar fleet, with the BRP Artemio Ricarte also participating in the search efforts around Balut Island in the Davao Region.
