Agentes Federales Disparan Fatalmente a Enfermero de UCI en Medio de Redada Migratoria en Minneapolis
On June 15, 2024, federal agents fatally shot 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis, United States. Videos later revealed a prior altercation between Pretti and federal agents 11 days before the shooting. The incident sparked widespread protests and calls for investigation and accountability. In response, the Minnesota National Guard was activated, and local authorities including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Minnesota Organization of Registered Nurses became involved. President Trump expressed sympathy for Pretti's family and urged protesters not to bring firearms to demonstrations. The federal agents involved were placed on administrative leave amid ongoing protests. Following the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens by federal agents in Minneapolis, the Trump administration plans to scale back immigration enforcement operations contingent upon increased cooperation from local officials.
