Trump Requests DOJ Investigation into Epstein's Ties with Prominent Figures

Summary

President Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Jeffrey Epstein's associations with former President Bill Clinton and other notable individuals.

President Donald Trump announced on Friday his intention to instruct U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Jeffrey Epstein's connections with former President Bill Clinton and other prominent figures. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, "I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him."

This directive follows the recent release of thousands of emails from Epstein's estate by the House Oversight Committee. Among these emails, Epstein mentioned that Trump "knew about the girls" but did not directly accuse him of any wrongdoing. In another email, Epstein noted that Trump had visited his home "many times" but "never got a massage."

JPMorgan Chase, which served as Epstein's banker for 15 years, has settled lawsuits alleging the bank facilitated his sex-trafficking enterprise. The settlements, totaling $365 million, did not involve admissions of liability. A spokeswoman for JPMorgan Chase stated, "We regret any association we had with the man, but did not help him commit his heinous acts."

Representatives for Clinton, Hoffman, Summers, and JPMorgan Chase have been contacted for comment. None of the individuals named by Trump have been accused of wrongdoing in the Epstein case.
