Perez Hilton enters residential treatment program after TikTok livestream

Resumen

Perez Hilton has been placed in a residential treatment facility for mental health care following a concerning TikTok Live broadcast, his family said.

Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, was admitted to a residential treatment program this week after a TikTok Live video raised concerns about his well-being, his family announced on his website. The statement said he had previously spent weeks in the hospital for physical injuries and would now focus exclusively on mental-health recovery, with limited access to phones or computers and restricted contact with friends and family.

"After weeks in the hospital receiving treatment for his physical injuries, Perez entered a residential treatment program where he can focus fully on his mental health and recovery," the family wrote.

The family added that the treatment could last several weeks or longer, depending on medical advice, and emphasized that the blogger is lucid, able to communicate clearly, and not suffering from memory loss or confusion. They also refuted several unverified rumors about his condition, stating that he does not have stitches, gauze, or any request involving celebrity Katy Perry.

His three children are reported to be in the care of their grandmother, Teresita, while the family seeks to maintain stability and routine for them. The statement expressed gratitude for public support and condemned hostile comments that wished him harm.

"Whatever anyone may think of 'Perez Hilton,' his past, or things he has said over the years, there's a real human being behind the name. Mario is a father of three, a son, a brother, and a friend who reached a point where he was struggling so deeply that he thought the people he loved would somehow be better off without him," the family said.

The family highlighted the importance of suicide prevention, noting that September is Suicide Prevention Month, and provided the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline number for those in need. They concluded by stating that Perez is alive, receiving help, and surrounded by people focused on his recovery.
