Apple rolls out iOS 26.7 security update alongside iOS 27 preview
Apple has released iOS 26.7, a security-focused update that appears as the default option in the Software Update screen, while iOS 27 is offered as a secondary choice.
Apple announced the release of iOS 26.7, an incremental update to the existing iOS 26 platform. When users open the Software Update interface, iOS 26.7 is presented as the primary option, with iOS 27 listed further down as an alternative. The company’s release notes state that the new version contains security fixes but no additional features. Apple indicated that iOS 27 will become the main update for iPhone models in the coming weeks, allowing users who prefer to remain on iOS 26 to install iOS 26.7 instead. iOS 27 is compatible with the same iPhone models that support iOS 26.
