Emmy Awards to Air Live on NBC and Peacock Monday Night

Summary

The 78th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on NBC and the streaming service Peacock on Monday, featuring host Mariska Hargitay and performances including Noah Kahan’s tribute during the In Memoriam segment.

The 78th Emmy Awards will be televised live on Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC and streamed on Peacock, with a pre-show on E! beginning at 5 p.m. ET. Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay will host the ceremony, which will present 19 awards covering top comedy and drama series as well as acting categories.

The Television Academy expanded the Creative Arts Emmys into a two-night event earlier this month, honoring casting, guest performances, game shows, documentaries and behind-the-scenes craftspeople. Posthumously, director Rob Reiner received his third Emmy for a guest role on The Bear, while Hargitay earned two awards for her documentary My Mom Jayne.

Among the nominees, established series such as Hacks, Abbott Elementary and The Bear contend for top comedy series, while newcomers Widow’s Bay and Margo’s Got Money Troubles also appear. In drama, last year’s winner The Pitt faces competition from Pluribus, Slow Horses, The Diplomat and others, with several first-time nominees from The Pitt and actors Dale Dickey and Kate O’Flynn for Widow’s Bay.

The broadcast will include a performance by singer-songwriter Noah Kahan of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” during the In Memoriam segment. Presenters slated to appear include Alan Cumming, Sally Field, Jon Hamm, Marcello Hernández, Niecy Nash-Betts, Keke Palmer, Amy Poehler, Florence Pugh, Rachel Sennott and Zendaya.
