Woman arrested after stripping on American Airlines flight to Miami

A passenger on American Airlines Flight 1779 stripped naked and acted indecently while the aircraft was en route from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Miami on Friday night. Flight crew reported the incident to the cockpit, and the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System recorded a message stating that a passenger in seat 9D had removed all clothing and was seen by other passengers in an indecent manner, prompting a report to airline operations and law enforcement.

The flight continued to Miami without diversion, and police were waiting at the gate when the plane landed at approximately 11:23 p.m. The woman was taken into custody, though authorities have not disclosed whether charges will be filed. Flight attendants have the authority to restrain unruly passengers if they pose a threat, but details of any specific actions taken in this case have not been released.

"FA1 reports that pax in seat 9D has taken off all her clothes and was seen by other pax in an indecent manner. FOM says this must be reported to IOC/OSM and have law enforcement," the ACARS message read.

The incident follows a separate recent case in which a male passenger on an American Airlines flight was restrained and duct-taped after allegedly attacking another traveler and making threatening statements.
