Teen son of former reality TV star appears in Fulton County court on aggravated sexual battery charges

Kroy "KJ" Biermann Jr., a 15-year-old, appeared before Fulton County Superior Court on September 11 for a bond hearing following his arrest on aggravated sexual battery charges. Prosecutors said investigators recovered video files on his phone that relate to the alleged offense. The incident in question occurred in April at a gym where a classmate claimed the teen made unwanted contact in a co-ed sauna; a subsequent forensic exam did not detect male DNA, according to a police report.

The prosecution requested a $190,000 bond, while the defense counsel, Jason Sheffield, argued for a $65,000 bond and asserted his client’s innocence. The judge ordered Biermann to remain in a youth detention facility while the bond decision is considered, and set an arraignment for October 14. The boy’s mother, former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" participant Kim Zolciak, is expected to oversee his care during the proceedings.
