Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine said they are ending their marriage of 20 years, emphasizing a focus on co-parenting their three sons.
Actor Alan Ritchson, 43, and his wife Catherine posted on Instagram on Saturday that they have decided to end their marriage after 20 years together. The couple said they will continue to raise their three sons—Calem, Edan and Amory—together and aim to be "the strongest co-parents we can be" while allowing each other space to grow.
They asked for privacy and compassion for their family during the transition, thanking followers for support. Court records indicate Ritchson filed for divorce in December, reconciled in March, and then announced the separation in September.
Ritchson and Catherine first met as teenagers, reconnected in college, and married in May 2006. The actor is known for roles on "Smallville," "Blue Mountain State," "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "Titans" and, most recently, as Jack Reacher in the Amazon Prime series "Reacher."
