Actor Alan Ritchson and wife Catherine announce divorce after two decades of marriage
Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine said they are ending their marriage after 20 years and will focus on co-parenting their three sons.
Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine posted a joint statement on Instagram on Saturday announcing that they are ending their marriage after 20 years together. The couple, who married in May 2006, said they will continue to raise their three sons—Calem (born 2012), Edan (born 2013) and Amory (born 2015)—and will work toward a cooperative parenting relationship.
In the announcement, they wrote that they have “grown up together, built a life and a family together,” and that “nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us.” They asked for privacy and compassion, emphasizing the well-being of their children as a priority.
Ritchson and Catherine first met in high school while studying ballet and have previously shared personal reflections about their relationship on social media. The couple’s representatives have not responded to requests for further comment.
The announcement follows recent social-media posts showing the family in Philadelphia, where Catherine indicated they had been living while Ritchson filmed the fourth season of the series "Reacher."
