Security Stops Trespasser at Harris' Los Angeles Home
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies responded to a reported trespassing incident at Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff's residence, where security personnel detained the individual without making an arrest.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies arrived at Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff's Los Angeles-area home around 10:30 p.m. on Friday after a woman was observed on the property. Security staff intercepted the individual before she reached the house, and no arrest was made.
"Security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff's property before the individual reached the home," spokesperson Eduardo Negrón told the outlet.
"Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff were not present. They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly," Negrón added.
The incident occurred after the former vice president's Secret Service detail had been discontinued following a policy change in 2025. The protective detail for former vice presidents typically lasts six months, according to a senior White House official.
