Jean Silva aims to rebound at Noche UFC against Jose Miguel Delgado

Résumé

Brazilian featherweight Jean Silva will fight Jose Miguel Delgado in the main event of Noche UFC on September 12 in Glendale, Arizona, after a knockout loss a year earlier.

Brazilian featherweight Jean Silva is set to face Jose Miguel Delgado in the headline bout of Noche UFC on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz. The event will be streamed on Paramount+ with a preliminary card beginning at 2 p.m. ET and the main card at 5 p.m. ET.

Silva, who was knocked out by Diego Lopes a year ago, is looking to improve on that result. Delgado, a prospect who stepped in to replace an injured Yair Rodriguez, will have the opportunity to advance in the featherweight division with a win.

Silva, ranked sixth in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, holds a height advantage over the nearly six-foot Delgado, who has just over a dozen professional fights. Analysts note that Delgado’s inexperience against a power striker like Silva could be a factor, while Silva is expected to adapt over the five-round bout.

Other matchups on the card include a flyweight clash between Brandon Moreno and Joseph Morales, a featherweight bout featuring Tommy McMillen versus Marwan Rahiki, and a women’s flyweight fight with Manon Fiorot against Alexa Grasso. The card also features a heavyweight contest between Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Curtis Blaydes, and a featherweight bout with David Martinez versus Dan Ige.

Preliminary results so far include victories for Tim Elliott, Ignacio Bahamondes, Yousri Belgaroui, Tommy Gantt, Rafa Garcia, and Sean King.
