Teen son of former reality TV star faces new felony sexual assault charges

Résumé

Kroy Biermann Jr., 15, was indicted on multiple felony sexual battery charges in Georgia, with bond decisions pending.

A 15-year-old who is the son of former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak has been charged as an adult with several felony sexual assault offenses, court records show. The indictment alleges he forced himself on a girl younger than 16 at an Alpharetta gym and includes counts of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery. He was arrested on Aug. 17 and is awaiting a bond ruling, which a judge is expected to issue later today or next week.

The prosecution has asked that no bond be set, arguing the teen poses a risk to minors, while the defense has requested bond, noting the defendant would continue schooling online and wear an ankle monitor. The defense also cited a prior polygraph test and a Georgia Bureau of Investigation report that found no male DNA at the alleged assault sites.

The case follows a previous sexual battery case from April 2023 for which the teen was on probation. In a statement to media, Zolciak said the allegations are "reckless and deeply troubling" and that her son denies any involvement. The boy’s attorney similarly denied the accusations, describing the public discussion of the case as inappropriate for juveniles.

The legal proceedings have attracted public attention due to the family’s reality-TV background.
