Patriots place rookie receiver A.J. Brown on injured reserve

Résumé

The New England Patriots will put wide receiver A.J. Brown on injured reserve after a high-ankle sprain, sidelining him for at least four games.

The New England Patriots announced that rookie wide receiver A.J. Brown will be placed on injured reserve following a high-ankle sprain suffered in his debut against the Seattle Seahawks. The injury is expected to keep Brown out for a minimum of four games, after which he will be eligible to return.

The Patriots' schedule includes a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2, followed by road contests against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills, with a home matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5.

With Brown unavailable, rookie Romeo Doubs, who dropped a pass in the Seahawks game, moves to the top of the Patriots' receiver depth chart. Other wide receivers on the 53-man roster include Mack Hollins, Pop Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism.
