Nintendo opens preorders for limited-edition Zelda Switch 2

Résumé

Nintendo has begun taking preorders for a black-and-gold Switch 2 themed for the Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary, with the console slated for release on Oct. 29 and currently sold out worldwide.

Nintendo announced that preorders are now available for a limited-edition Switch 2 celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. The console, featuring a black-and-gold finish with Triforce-inspired artwork on the dock, system unit and Joy-Con 2 controllers, will launch on Oct. 29. While the special edition includes the same upgraded hardware as the standard Switch 2—such as a vivid display, faster performance and support for up to 4K output when docked—the themed design is sold separately from any game. The package is priced at $520, higher than the regular model, and is currently out of stock across retailers. Nintendo said it will monitor inventory and update availability lists as new stock appears.
