Justine Musk alleges emotional abuse by Elon Musk in new documentary

Resumen

In the documentary "Musk," former wife Justine Musk says Elon Musk gaslit and belittled her during their marriage, while also discussing family disputes and his relationship with their children.

The four-hour documentary "Musk," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, features Justine Musk describing her marriage to Elon Musk as marked by frequent criticism and emotional manipulation. She said she learned the term “gaslighting” through the relationship and recounted that Musk often told her she was “lacking,” comparing his tone to that of a boss speaking to an employee.

"He was constantly remarking on the ways he found me lacking," she said in the film.

Justine recalled an incident at their 2000 wedding when Musk referred to himself as the “alpha in the relationship.” She previously wrote about the same episode in a 2010 essay, noting she had dismissed similar remarks at the time.

The documentary also addresses family matters, including the death of their first child, Nevada, in 2002, and the estranged relationship between Musk and their transgender daughter Vivian. Justine disputes Musk’s claim that he held Nevada during the infant’s death, stating she was the one who did so, and alleges Musk has not attempted to reconcile with Vivian.

She further alleges that Musk cut off a model’s health insurance and expressed insecurity about his appearance, reportedly saying he could not look “cool or hip” because he needed to appear as an engineer.

Musk did not participate in the documentary and has not responded to requests for comment. The film also includes remarks from other women who have been linked to Musk, including a former partner who said she declined a $40 million nondisclosure agreement to appear in the film.

The documentary has been described by Musk as a “hit piece” in a prior tweet.
