Sandra Bullock reflects on 2010 divorce and adoption in interview

Resumen

In a September interview, Sandra Bullock discussed how the 2010 cheating scandal involving her ex-husband Jesse James affected her personal life and career, and described her experiences raising her adopted children.

Sandra Bullock spoke about the fallout from her 2010 divorce during a conversation with longtime friend Jennifer Aniston for the September issue of Interview magazine. She said the film Gravity resonated with her at the time, describing it as a "really dark time" when she was "raising and protecting a little smurf" while coping with grief.

Bullock recalled hiding her newborn son Louis from the press after the scandal broke, describing how she placed him in a car carrier inside a hockey bag to avoid paparazzi attention. She later adopted a daughter, Laila, in 2015, and said her children now dictate her work choices, noting that she prioritises their schedules over personal ambition.

"If the kids can’t be with me, I’m not going," Bullock told Aniston.

The article also referenced Jesse James' 2010 public apology, in which he accepted responsibility for the affair allegations, calling his own judgment the cause of the situation.

"The vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded. Beyond that, I will not dignify these private matters with any further public comment," James said in a statement.

Bullock's former partner, photographer Bryan Randall, who died of ALS in 2023, was mentioned as a father figure to her children. She said she began grieving his illness years before his death, noting the impact on her family.
